WATERS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I knew before we left for church it was going to be one of those days. Most of James' days are pretty lovely and laid back, but some are straight out of the book of classic toddler. James was doing OK for the very first part of sacrament meeting, but then started getting a bit antsy. When the actual sacrament service began, it was a struggle to keep him quiet for the prayer. Even on a good day, he won't eat bread at home, so we haven't tried to get him to eat the sacramental bread yet. The water is another issue.

As soon as the Priest said "amen" James started chanting, "Water coming, water coming. Water for James. James water. Water coming, water coming." It was fairly quiet, but as the Deacons got closer, his chanting got a bit louder, "Water coming, water coming. Water for James. James water." Now a few people around us could hear and were giggling. The deacons got nearer and James started saying in a loud voice "Water coming water coming water coming water coming." He was sitting on my lap and I kept whispering in his ear to whisper and be quiet, but nothing doing.

Then the Deacon approached our row and James YELLED:

WATER COMING!!!

(*The whole congregation, including the Bishopric, is stifling laughter and I am every shade of red.)

And when the Deacon stopped at the row in front of us, he burst into tears because they didn't serve him right then. Ben finally gave him a cup, he drank it, gave it back, and we were all at peace. (Well, for 10 minutes, at least.)

I'm not sure I've laughed that hard in a while. Thanks for sharing it. I think I'm going to try it next Sunday.

Some of the funniest things come out of the mouths of babes. It is remarkable the James is talking in full sentences. It helps to have genius-parents and grandparents. :)
